We care about your health during your pregnancy. Exercise in pregnancy has many benefits and in a low-risk pregnancy, it is considered safe and essential.
In women with pre-existing medical conditions or with higher risk pregnancies, exercise need not be avoided altogether, it may just need to be monitored a little more closely.
Pilates is considered great exercise options during pregnancy. Our instructors are also trained in how to modify exercises to suit the different trimesters of your pregnancy.
If you are pregnant, we request that prior to attending your first Gym/Pilates class (even if you have attended in previous pregnancies), you see one of our Women’s Health Physiotherapists for a 30 minute Exercise Pre-Screening Assessment.
The purpose of this assessment is to gather medical and obstetric history to inform our instructors if any specific modifications need to be made for you in the class. It will also enable us to identify any contraindications for exercise and to educate you on the principles of Pilates and ensure you have a correct pelvic floor and transverse abdominus contraction prior to commencing the class.
Please call our reception on 4972 3244 to book this appointment.
