Amanda graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) in 2009. She has returned to the Gladstone region after spending 6 years in Brisbane working predominantly in the biomechanical and sports podiatry field. Amanda gained invaluable experience during this time working closely with many athletes and across a variety of sports. For the past two seasons she had the opportunity to work closely with Netball Queensland completing preseason biomechanical and footwear screening and in season injury prevention, management and education for the state age, elite development and QLD Firebirds teams.
Amanda has a thorough knowledge of general, work and sport specific footwear and endeavours to keep up to date with the constant changes. She enjoys all aspects of Podiatry but has a special interest in biomechanics, paediatric assessments, running assessments and sports specific injuries. Amanda is passionate about keeping people of all ages pain free and mobile and continuing to strive for their goals. She is a member of the APODC and is on the Qld Regional Podiatry Committee.
Musculoskeletal complaints such as heel, foot and leg pain, bunions, lesser toe deformities (eg. hammer and claw toes), osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, in-toeing, toe walking and footwear assessments and advice, are just a range of lower limb complaints that Amanda can help you with. She is qualified in all aspects of Podiatry, ranging from diabetic and vascular assessments, DVA foot care and medical grade footwear prescription, general skin and nail care and ingrown toenail treatment. She has also completed further training in Foot Mobilisation therapy, neuromuscular dry needling and running gait retraining.
